Launching the party range at last!



Really exciting range of cup, plate, cutlery, napkin, invites and "thank you" notes and party bags, Owl themed of course; comes in lilac or brown; can be personalised; and each item is either compostable/ biodegradeabe, reusable, recyclable or we have bought into a carbon off-setting scheme to offset the carbon involved in production!

We are really proud of the range and think it will save you time and hassle as you can can get all your coordinated party stuff in one pack. You can buy the number of place settings you need (minimum of 4, order in multiples of 4) and we have even included extra stationery to give you flexibility when planning your party.

This weeks featured products:

This week we are featuring our collection of owl mugs. Did you know that the collective noun for owls is a parliament of owls? We have 4 different designs, all printed onto sturdy porcelain. They come from a small family run business, just like ours, in Scotland.

Our latest owls flying in this week are some great pocket money owl products, these also make fab owl party favours. My kids particularly love the owl eraser which comes as a topper with a pencil and as a sharpener/eraser combo - 4 colours to collect. Having said that my kids are crazy about stationery :)

Owl partys

Been burning the 10:30 (v. late for me, I am not a night owl :) ) oil working on the party packs. I am very excited about these packs of eco friendly cups, plates, cutlery, napkins and party bags - owl themed and personalised. Can't wait till they're ready to launch and see if you are as excited as me!
Making an owl cake tomorrow for an owl tea party - love it.

The party range is coming on - we are finalising the artwork for the cups and hope to order this week. it is going to be a very green range - we have bought into a carbon offsetting scheme for the cups which means they will be carbon neutral, the plates are made from waste material from the sugar cane process and printing will be done on recycled card. Struggling to source gift bags made from recycled paper but are choosing very reusable ones instead!

We have visited the bird of prey centre near York  http://www.minsterfalconry.com/ and it is great. It is very hands on, loads of information and volunteers willing to talk about the birds. Very exciting news - we are hoping to develop some links with an owl sanctuary near York. We are developing a new webpage to keep you updated with info about the sanctuary and the work they do as well as any interesting cases they have. Hopfully it shouldn't be too long before we have some photos to upload.

A night-light with wooden owl motif - fantastic for a childs bedroom, well known to keep all monsters away!

ruler with a really cool slider with owl and tree motif.

Am currently designing a range of owl themed party products for the website http://www.englishowlcompany.com/ - cups, plates, party bags ...
The range is going to be as low carbon footprint as possible: The plates are made from bagasse - a waste product from sugar cane production; we are offsetting the production of the cups through a tree planting scheme; invites etc all printed on recycled paper.

We have talking with a small producer of cushions and other fabric items. They make really lovely stuff, very high quality. We have ordered some aprons - an orange one, a green one and a blue one - and they are making us some samples of some cushions and ipad covers. These are exculusive to The English Owl Company!

These aprons are really good - fully adjustable with poppers at the neck fastening, loads of pockets, really robust, fully washable - fab. The owl motive is really cute, hand finished with button eyes. Just arrived - childs bag to complement our childrens range. As a mum I love this range, it's querky and a bit different, its robust and easily cleaned.

Just spent a lovely and very relaxing weekend camping in the Yorkshire Wolds, near Malton. Beautiful place, little village called West Witton.

We have launched a new webpage featuring British Made suppliers. We think it is crucial to support British manufacturing and British industry and do so whenever possible. The products we are featuring are made to exacting standards with top quality raw materials.
We have a guy making pencil holders, desk tidys and tea light holders from wood that would otherwise be waste from a large estate in Yorkshire. The products are great and we love the use of some beautifully chosen and seasoned wood.

We also have a cast iron door stop made using traditional methods in Staffordshire and tea towels printed onto top quality premium cotton made in Lincolnshire.

The website is live!

The wesite seems to be working fine - though if you notice anything that isn't or that is confusing please let us know as we are continually working to improve it.

We have stock, we have had great fun buying in the stock and we have some great products. Lovely owly ornaments, mugs, kitchen stuff, greetings cards with fab photos of owls, fantastic pocketmoney section and lots of owly staionery. My current favourites are the soft toys - they are so soft and cuddly!

The website is nearly ready to go, stock is arriving everyday, we are just a couple of weeks off going live!
It seems we have had people looking at the website already, if you've looked and have suggestions we would love to hear from you. If you like what you see you can help us enormously by spreading the word. We have a facebook page (The English Owl Company) and a twitter page (Sally Everitt).
When we get up and running we will have regular news letters, you could encourage all your contacts to sign up for our news letters.

Things are really hotting up now. We have ordered loads of products and now have the mamouth task of sorting them all out, photographing them and getting them onto the website with descriptions of every item. We have managed to find quite a few "right on" owly products - wooden ornaments, greetings cards, stationary and a whole load of other stuff. You could go mad in our pocket money section - we have loads of collectable little things - erasers, pens, pencils, notebooks - and some gorgeous kiddy stuff. Wow, there is a lot to think about when setting up a new business! We are building an online shop to sell owl related gifts and collectable owl products.
