Where did January and February go? It is half term next week! I have started to notice that the days are getting longer at last, my older daughter is now leaving for school in the light again :)

Last week we went to Birmingham to a HUGE trade fair, we saw loads of scrummy owl, fox, hedgehog, mouse and chicken products and have spent the rest of last week and the beginning of this deciding which to order and getting our orders in. Can't wait to show you all the new stock as it arrives, particularly in our new fox, hedgehog, mouse and chicken ranges.

This week we have 25% off all the mugs. I have ordered some more mugs, some in the same designs we have stocked before and some in new designs. The new mugs are all china so you can grab yourselves a porcelain bargain right now to help avoid confusion when the new stock arrives!

   We have teamed these up with some of super soft toys, put them in a gift bag and added the personal touch with a ribbon with your own personal message. These would make great valentines or mothers day gifts!

Very busy week at Owl Headquarters! Lots of new stock has arrived to top up our existing owl range and to launch our new fox, mouse, hedgehog and chicken ranges! The fox range particularly is coming along nicely:

This is the part of my business that I think I enjoy the most! I will keep posting new stock and pictures as they come in. I can't believe I haven't posted since November! Christmas has been very busy at The English Owl Company as well as the usual excitements in the run up to Christmas at home. I have thoroughly enjoyed the last couple of weeks - hubby had the whole of the childrens school holidays off work so we have had a lovely, relaxing and fun family couple of weeks.

Back to normal now though, all the decorations are away, hubby back to work, children back to school and liquorice alsorts scoffed (but that's another story!). Stock levels have been checked, the owl barn has been tidied up and a to-do list written.

We are about to embark on a VERY exciting time - we are expanding! You will notice some changes to the website (www.englishowlcompany.com) that might give you a little clue... The weather has got really quite chilly the last couple of weeks. The last few leaves are clinging to the trees - there is a beautiful Rowan in a garden down my street that I walk past every day on the school run. It's leaves are a little smaller than the wild version (as is the whole tree), delicate and such vivid colours. The berries are a delicate pale yellow and the birds don't seem to like them much so they stay after the leaves. Some years we get redwings in and they devour the lot in a day or so. Such a gorgeous tree.

Some time ago I fell in love with some cute little hand painted ceramic owl beads. I have been playing about with what to do with them and have finally made them up into beautiful ear ring and necklace sets. I have matched them up, with the help of some little glass or pearl beads, to the colour and stone associated with birthmonths. So there are 12 sets, one for each month. Each comes with a card detailing the colour, stone and characteristics associated with that month. I am really pleased with them, I think they make a lovely owl gift or a pretty little treat for yourself :)
